Kiss Cutting

Kiss cutting is a method for cutting into a material where the upper layers are pierced, but the back layer is left intact. Kiss cutting machines create a crack and peel surface for easy removal of the liner; this leaves the label or sticker to be applied to a package, envelope, or other surface.

Die Cutting

Die cutting is a fabrication process that uses specialized machines and tools to convert stock material by cutting, forming, and shearing. In printing, die cuts are used to create custom shapes and designs for labels.
